Why donors like DAFs (plain language):
Simple: Recommend a grant online through your DAF sponsor.
Tax-smart upstream: The potential tax deduction typically happens when you fund your DAF; recommending grants lets you put those charitable dollars to work.
Strategic impact: Time your grants to align with programs you care about most (scholarships, cohorts, content updates, and more).

We’re glad to coordinate with your DAF advisor or connect you with our partners at National Christian Foundation (NCF) for professional guidance.
Giving through a DAF is a 2-step process. The first step is contributing cash, stock, or other assets (tax-deductible per IRS rules) to the fund. Because the contribution is irreversible, any potential charitable tax deduction typically happens at that time allowing the donor to make their contributions in the most advantageous tax year. In addition, many donors choose to give appreciated assets to avoid having the value of their gift reduced by capital gains taxes. The second step is recommending a gift from the fund to the charity. This can happen at any time in the future and to any qualified charity. There is no additional charitable deduction at the time of the actual gift. If you don’t have a DAF yet, you can open a Giving Fund with NCF or another provider you prefer. Once your fund is set up, you can contribute cash, stock, or other assets (tax-deductible per IRS rules) and recommend grants to Relational Peace and other ministries anytime. It’s an easy way to plan your giving and make a steady, meaningful impact.
