No matter what your role, the skills you will learn in Communicate for a Change will help you improve your relationships.

It all starts with four simple skills that come out of counseling research but are also mentioned as attributes of Love in the Bible:

Genuineness: Real, Authentic, and Open to others

Respect: Every person carries the image of God and has eternal worth.

Empathy: Accurately understanding other people’s ideas and feelings. Patient attention.

Warm Kindness: Friendly, Liking, Sensitive

In Communicate for a Change, you will learn the basics of being a graceful person with:

  • Your spouse
  • Your children (young and adult)
  • Your friends
  • Your parents
  • Your teammates
  • Your boss and coworkers
  • Your customers (patients, clients, students, etc.)
  • Friends at church
  • People of a different race or culture
  • People you disagree with in values, theology, politics, world view
  • People within your reach but outside the faith

The skills presented in Communicate for a Change are foundational in developing relationships that are blessed by grace. They are critical as we grow in sacrificial love for one another and build a welcoming, healing, and multiplying faith community of believers and seekers. Along with our own growth, the lifelong priority of pursue makes clear that following Jesus is not just about us, as much as it is to embody a taste of grace for those that do not yet know Jesus. In Communicate for a Change, we can learn to implement these relationship skills to lead people to Jesus and encourage them to grow in Him.
